Memphis newborn and family photographer

I am so excited to introduce Georgia Blake to the blog! I have known her parents, Kevin and Rachel, since they graduated pharmacy school. They also allowed me the opportunity to take big sister’s newborn photos in my studio. All that to say, it has been a wonderful journey watching their family grow!

I’ll be the first to tell you that I LOVE an in-home session, BUT dang sometimes that studio session hits just right and oh man is it good!

This was one of those sessions. Baby Hal and his mama and daddy came in to the studio shortly after he was born and honestly everything just went right. This truly ended up being one of my very favorite newborn sessions ever. Mama wore a sweet square neck cotton and lace sundress from my motherhood wardrobe and had her makeup beautifully applied by Ashley McElven of Southern Peony Beauty. When sweet baby Hal was not in his custom onesie he was wrapped in a simple white swaddle for that timeless look.

In Memphis, outdoor sessions can have a really stale feeling due to the lack of pretty landscapes and green spaces. We don’t have beautiful rolling hills or beautiful prairie land. We have to be creative. After a number of years of shooting in our large public park I wanted something new. Enter Hedge Farm in Red Banks MS. I had shot a wedding at this venue in 2020 and remembered the beautiful garden, with its greens, florals, and the beautiful brick pavers, It was just what I wanted. Done, I booked the venue and started planning my minis!
